Johnny Malone has several health issues that are becoming worse with time.  Before he becomes too ill to celebrate he decided to have a party to celebrate his life.  CCARC agreed to support Johnny in getting the day put together.  He created the invite list and suggested snacks and music for dancing.  Mayor Long presented an official proclamation from the City of Jackson, proclaiming March 19, 2009 "Johnny Malone Day".  Councilman Paul South presented Johnny with a City of Jackson lapel pin.  Police Chief Charles Burge presented Johnny with a JPD police patch making him an honorary police officer.  Many friends gathered to celebrate Johnny.  The community was asked to bring Johnny soda cans as these are things he likes to collect for extra money.  To Johnny the cans would represent how much he is loved by the community.  And the community did not disappoint.  A Large truckload of cans was delivered to Johnny by his community friends.  All day people stopped by to present Johnny with bags and bags of cans.  When asked how Johnny felt about the day, he simply smiled and said...I liked it!

Mission Accomplished!!!
