Simply put, "it's a new way of doing business." For many years CCARC has provided several services. Day training, Residential, and supported employment are just a few. These services have helped many of the persons we serve. While CCARC will continue to provide these services, we are working hard to give folks more options. We are talking to them about what they want and giving them more choices. So personal outcomes is about giving choices and then supporting those choices. And, as we listen to people we serve, we are learning that we need the help of family members and the community to make choices possible. When we talk about personal outcomes we are talking about a person's entire life. Basically, helping people to accomplish their personal outcomes means paying attention to several areas of their life. The people we serve are just like anyone else: we all have many needs, desires, dreams, goals, etc. Below is a brief description of the areas of a person's life where we are asking questions. The purpose in asking about these areas is to find out what more our folks want, or what things they would like to change, if anything. This information helps us to know what CCARC or others can do to help the people we serve be satisfied with their life. |
