CCARC has always endeavored to provide the best quality of services to individuals served through our programs. We realized, however, that there were accrediting organizations who encouraged an even higher standard of service provision. In February, 1999, several CCARC staff attended a workshop sponsored by The Council on Quality and Leadership in Supports for People with Disabilities. The "wheels began to turn" and we realized the focus on identifying outcomes across an individual's entire life and supporting those personal outcomes was a standard we should embrace as an organization. Following that conference, CCARC began the process of identifying outcomes for all individuals served and making the organizational changes necessary to support those outcomes. CCARC achieved a two-year, unconditional accreditation by The Council in April, 2001. Then, in March 2003, CCARC achieved a three-year with distinction accredited status from The Council and again in 2006. We are proud of this achievement. The Council's focus on individual outcomes driving the services provided and encouraging a holistic approach to each individual's life plan have resulted in many positive changes in the lives of those we serve. Also, the organization has grown in our appreciation and respect for each person and has become a real "TEAM" working together to ensure the individuals we serve receive the utmost satisfaction with their life. |
